Murieston United goalkeeper section has been established for a number of years and offers specialist goalkeeper coaching to Youth goalkeepers at Murieston United and at clubs in the local area. The goalkeepers are able to train on grass throughout the year as a result of the club purchasing a generator and floodlights. Anyone interested in joining should come dressed with appropriate kit and ready to start at the times shown.

Training times at Bankton Playing Fields are
1800-1900hrs for under 13’s
1900-2000hrs for over 13’s

The cost for non-Murieston United goalkeepers is £3 per session. Murieston United goalkeeper-coaching fees are covered in the money paid to their own team fund.

The goalkeeper sessions are split into two age groups, over 13 and under 13.
The training schedule for the under 13’s is based on basic handling, kicking, movement, communication, teamwork but most importantly confidence and fun.
Our under 13 goalkeepers have shown great commitment, turning up in all sorts of weather during the winter to develop their skills and all have featured for their club or school teams during the season.

The over 13 goalkeepers further develop the above techniques but at a much higher physical and aerobic level. Some of the goalkeepers in the older section have attracted attention from senior SPL/SFL clubs during the season and have also represented their teams at both county and regional select level.

We are currently looking for a sponsor to provide kit and equipment for the Goalkeepers.
