Tues 25 May 10

Leagie - home v. Murie Red

Murie Blue 2 (Reece, Gary) - Murie Red  2

A decent performance for the last game of the season for the Blues.  A nice wee bit of play resulting in a goal for the Blues by Reece making it 1 nil at half time.  Only barely started back in the second half when the reds got an equalising goal.  A decent display from the blues showing some crips passing resulting in a fine free kick from Gary to put the blues up 2 -1 with full time looming it looked like a win at last for the blues but the reds pop in with their second of the game to make  it a draw and only a point  for the blues.

League - home v Mid Calder

Murie Blue 2 (Reece 2) - Mid Calder 5

Well a decent enough display - a few decisions perhaps not in our favour but still beaten on the day by the better team .

HT: 1. - 2

Thurs 13 May 10

Presidents Cup - home v. Linlithgow

Murie Blue 1(Reece) - Linlithgow 3

murie found themselves down 2 nil quite early on with Reece scoring just before half time to make it 2 -1. However another goal for Lithgae made it ft 1 - 3.

Sun 2 May 10

League game - home v. Mid Calder Colts

Murie Blue 0 - Mid Calder 3

Murie found themselves up against  Mid Calder for the first time this season with their third last league game of the season - decent enough display from Murie and probably having the upper hand in the first half against a team who, until recently, seemed in the running for promotion.  Still some signs of having a little lack of a confidence having taken a bit of a run of poor results.  However with the score at 0 -0 half time it looked as though we may take something from the game which Murie battled for and perhaps could have gained a point but for a bit of a lack of concentration and before we know it we are 3 goals down - however oneward and upwards.  keep fighting til the end and see if we can take something from the last two games.

HT: 0 - 0

Sun 25 April 10

League game - home v. Polbeth Utd

Murie Blue 0 - Polbeth Utd 3

Murie found themselves up against ithe league leaders who showed some fine play - to be fair though if Murie had a striker like Polbeth who knows.  A bit of a scrappy goal for Polbeth's first goal but there was nothing our keeper could do with the second and third goals for the big no.6 for Polbeth - if only.  A decent figtht but no fire power up front at the end of the day.  Murie played well at spells and showed signs of improvement and more gel as a team.  Unlucky boys.  Good luck to Polbeth who look like they could well do what they have just missed out on the last few seasons and go up to the A league.  For Murie keep fighting til the end and try and finish with some steel.

HT: 0 - 2

Sun 18 April 10

League game - home v. Boghall

Murie Blue 2 (Reece,Mikey) - Boghall 0

A decent game considering the conditions the rain started to come on quite heavy in the first half  with neither team making an impact.  Just after the break Reece scored a fine goal with Mikey getting the other one arojnd 20mins later.  Some excellent saves from Simic which his hero Boruc would have been proud of.  Well done Murie - now can we carry this on for next weekend?

HT: 0 - 0

Thurs 15 April 10

League game - away v. Bonnybridge

Bonnybridge 7 - Murie Blue 0

This game kicked off at 6.30 meaning arriving at least 30mins before - some parents work in Edinburgh and were really rushed getting there on time meaning  the coach having to change his starting 11 due to late arrivals etc.  however the 11 starters gave it their best shot on a pitch which was pretty poor -  having played this team on our two prevoius fixtures it was hoped we had managed to counter their weaknesses and perhaps cause some damage but allas it wasn't to be.    A bit of a better second half with only conceding 2 goals and that was with the low sun causing a bit of bother.   oh well - bring on the next game!

HT: 5 - 0

Sun 11 April 10

League cup semi final - home v. Bonnybridge

Murie Blue 1(Calum (pen))  - Bonnybridge 5

Well not a lot to say except that again we find ourselves up agains Bonnybridge this time in the semi final of the league cup.  Having played the same team only a week previously it was hoped we would have a stronger team with some key players back and give a bit of a game.  To be fair 5 - 1 is probably a bit harsh as the game was closer than that as for a long period the score was  2 -1.  A bit more fight perhaps and again more clinical in front of goal and who knows We get yet another crack at them on Thursday!!!.  come on guys!!  Good effort but not to be on the day.

HT   1 - 2

Sun 4 April 10

League game - home v. Bonnybridge

Murie Blue 2 (Calum 2) - Bonnybridge 6

Game played on 3G one of only two games played at U16s this weekend.  Well what can I say some key players out and as the saying goes a game of two halves.  Bonnybridge played some decent football and proved more clinical in front of goals and put 3 past us in the first half.  The second half was a bit better for Murie who reshaped a bit and had a bit more grit about them in the second half with Bmmybridge finding the Murie net again but thanks to 2 goals from Calum (with one being a fine piece of play from him - he paid me to say that!!!)  - making the score look a bit more respectable @ 4 - 2 however Bonnybridge found the net again on another 2 occasions - on another day perhaps.  Some lovely football from Bonnybridge nontheless.   And I also have to say some fine saves one in particular was top drawer from stand in goalkeeper Sean -  a good effort from Murie but not clinical enough in the end,.

HT - 0 - 3

Sun 28 March 10

League game - away v. Polbeth Utd

Polbeth Utd 4 - Murie Blue 1 (Lewis)

Bit of a scrappy match with Polbeth proving why they are in the good position they are in the league.  The willingness was there for Murie but beaten on the day - a good effort but perhaps with some of our players out it showed on the day.  Hopefully Murie will have a full strength team for the home tie with Polbeth as they are a good team but so are Murie Blue on their day.

Sun 21 March 10

League game - awy v. East Calder Black

East Calder 1 - Murie blue 5 (Gareth, Keiron(2), Reece, Gavin(T)

Good response to last weeks shambles - a comfortable win - superb strike in with barely 4 mins gone from Gareth.  Good team effort well done lads show that spirit every week.

HT:  0 - 3

Sun  14 March 10

League game - home v. BFC Linlithgow

Murie blue 3 (Cozzy,Sid,Calum(p)) - BFC 7

Well what can I say! Murie score 2 goals early on looking comfortable, first half goals from Cozzy and a fine strike from Sid.  Nothing seemed to go in after that and Murie took the foot off the gas and made the mistake thinking they had done enough, but Linlithgow had their own ideas and scored just before half time to make it 2 - 1 when it really should have been more to Murie.  The second  half was hoped that Murie had got the attitude changed and were expected to go out and score a few early goals in the second half,  Linlithgow however proved the more determined and gritty and fought back,  a couple of goals looking clearly offside but Murie switched off to allow the comback to happen great spirit and fight from Linlithgow to score 7 in the second half leaving the murie boys to rue the chances and wonder where it all went wrong - Calum scored a consolation penalty at the end to make it a bit more respectible.  Disappointing result given the great start out the blocks.  Hopefully lessons will be learned from todays game and no repeat.

ht: 2 - 1 murie

Sun 21 Feb 10
County Cup QF - home v. Kerse
Murie Blue 1 (Mikey) - Kerse 4
Played on 3G pitch - good game against a very good Kerse team -  Murie found themselves 2 goals down within half an hour however then got a goal back to make it  2 -1 - for a while it looked like Murie might sneek another goal and who knows take the game to extra time!  - but alas Kerse proved why they are A league contenders and no doubt a few cups. Never mind we are still in the league cup!!!
Good team effort showing signs that the team are now beginning to gel.

Sun 14 Feb 10
League game - away v. Boghall
Boghall 1 - Murie Blue 3 (Gary, Lewis 2)
better game from muire this time however Boghall took the lead fairly early on - a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with not much give from either team - murie eventuall equalised by a fine goal by Gary.  Second half saw the change of putting super sub Lewis on who responded well by making it 2 -1 Murie.  just when it looked like FT at 2-1 the ref booked Murie B for time wasting the resulting added time resulted in another goal for Murie Blue (Lewis again on target) well done for the fighting spirit.

Sun 7 Feb 10
League game - away v. Whitburn
Whitburn 2 - Murie Blue 1 (Calum)
Reasonable game from Murie Blue considering it was their first game in 3 months! Many players out with injuries including the goalie with Sean stepping in betwen the sticks - although the first goal for whitburn is best forgotten.  However well done for the fight with a  good free kick from Calum whitburn edged the lead in the end with Murie down to about 9 fully fit players subs being put back on with injuries.

Sun 8 Nov 09
County Cup R2 - away v. Whitburn
Whitburn 3 -  Murie Blue 4 (Reece 2, Mikey, Robbie)
Good hard fought cup tie in which Murie scored three in the first half - the second half seen Murie go 4 -2 up but Whitburn fought back to make it 3 - 4 and a nail biting finish.
HT 1 - 3

Sun 11 Oct 09
League cup - home v. Boghall
Murie Blue - 3 (Mikey, Gary, Cozzy)  Boghall 1
the boys showed great team spirit and learned a lot from last weekends cup defeat to come back fighting - well done.
HT 1-1

Sun 27 Sep 09
League - away v. Murie Red
Murie Red - 1  Murie Blue 1 (Jamie)
good game considering the windy conditions.  Murie Red getting the first goal right on half time.    Not so many clear cut chances his time around but persistence meant Murie Blue getting their deserved goal in the second half.    A superb save in the dying minutes to help save the point. Probably a fair result in the end.
HT: 1 -0

Sun 20 Sep 09
League - away v. BFC Linlithgow Utd.
BFC - 2 - Murie Blue 2 (Sean, Cozzy)
chances chances again, esp second half to ensure all 2 points come Murie's way. but a share of the points instead.

Sun 13 Sep 09
SE Regional Cup R1 - home v. Seton BC Colts
Murie Blue 2 (Cozzy, Mikey) - Seton BC Colts 2
Murie won 4-3 on penalties - next round Bonnyrigg Rose!!
Great cup tie which Murie should have won in duration time by a good few goals but again chances missed! Great spirit and good sportsmanship from Seton BC Colts well done all.

Sun 30 Aug 09
Scottish Cup R1 - away v. Dalmore FC
Dalmore 3 - Murie Blue 1  (Robbie)
great cup tie played in great spirit - if only Murie had taken some of their many chances!!!
HT:  1 - 1

Tue 24 Aug 09
League - home v. Whitburn
Murie Blue 0 - Whitburn 3

Muire tried hard and kept things tight until the last minute of the first half.  If only Murie had scored some of their chances the scoreline could have been so different!.
HT: 0 - 1

Sun 16 Aug 09
League - home v East Calder Black
Murie Blue 2 (Calum 2 (1 pen))  - East Calder 2
Typical first game of the season edgy stuff closely fought game - Murie had their chances but East Calder were holding firm.
