Ex Murie Players
New for this season is a page dedicated to those ex Murieston players who have managed to fulfil their ambitions and play for senior clubs.
Scott Arfield (Falkirk)
To start us off we have Scott Arfield who was with the club for many years and who is currently making the breakthrough into Falkirk's first team. He played against Rangers in Alex Totten's testimonial match and featured in most games since then, including the SPL matches, mostly as subsitute but Falkirk boss John Hughes has high hopes for Scott making the breakthrough this season. Also a member of Scotland's U19s squad. In November he made his under 21s international debut in the 4-0 win over Slovenia.
On Saturday 5th January 2008, he received his first red card (rather unluckily by paper reports) in the game vAberdeen. To soften the blow, he was awarded the Clydesdale Bank Young Player of the Month for December (see photo below)
He scored one of the goals for Scotland U21s v Ukraine in a 2-2 draw in February 2008.
Chris Innes (Livingston)
Chris was a member of our newly formed U11s back in 1986-87. The much travelled Chris Innes began season 2007-08 as Gretna captain as the team embarked on their first season in the SPL. He started his professional career at Stenhousemuir after joining the Warriors from Blackburn United and moved to Kilmarnock for
